This is the Masai Mara, seen from the top of a large hill just outside the northern border of the park ... the Mara is the Kenya portion of the Serengetti Desert, which extends hundreds of miles down into Tanzania. Several million animals trek northward every July/August, following the water - then head back south when the rains start ... this is the Great Migration ...
